When the Chinook landed on 11 degree upslope terrain it slid down backwards, and the front rotor hit the ground and the fuselage as well. The backrotor lifted the fuselage till it fell on the right side. A small fire broke out. One crewmember was killed and 3 suffered minor injuries. One passenger was uninjured.The helicopter was involved in a firefighting operation.
