Narrative:
Crashed into the Irish Sea off Valley, Anglesey at Map Reference SH27SE, Grid Reference SH2916173970, after the pilot - Flying Officer R. T. KnowIes - ejected due to a jammed undercarriage. XP737 was inbound to Valley for the open day on 18-8-1979.

Per eyewitness report: "he lightning in question was arriving for the Valley Airshow (to be held the following day) and I recall seeing it doing a number of flybys over the Control Tower with the port u/c leg noticeably not fully down, also executing wing 'waggles' to try and get it to the fully down and locked position. Obviously in the end a decision was made to head it out into the Irish Sea and eject."
