Steve Waring and Bob Prest were on 1v1 sortie with another Jaguar, both jags were 8 Squadron based at SOAF Thumrait. They flew through the jet exhaust of the other jag and put the engines out if I remember correctly. The jet crashed approx 25 miles North East of Thumrait.

I was on the scene in a Desert Rescue Land Rover about 20 mins after the event."
