Narrative:
Actually crashed near a fishing village called Chinhae. Flying along a river and struck a power line going across. Koren divers from a ship salvage unit based in Seoul recovered the aircrew. I was there.
***Edited*** The crash happened as stated; but one difference; there was no river and there were no divers. The plane flew into the power line, High voltage, on towers. The remains, both persons and the plane, came down in rice paddies. I was sent out from Camp Red Cloud to provide communications. I set up my equipment and stayed over night. The recovery crew from Osan focused only on body remains. As I recall, we left the plane parts for another crew to pick up. An additional note; after the on-site commander declared that they were finished and the crew from Osan departed. After they departed, a Korean farmer came up to me and handed over a boot with a foot inside and a portion of the leg. I called the helicopter back and handed over the body part to the crew. As I recall, the heli went to Seoul, to an Army base because that is where there was a mortuary, Osan did not have a mortuary at that time.
