The pilot lost his life.
The weather at the time was fine with a light, but freshening breeze. The visibility was good with slight haze.
The weather was not seen to be a factor in the accident.
No defects were found in the aircraft or engine. It was not overloaded.
The aircraft was flying into the sun and glare on the windshield may have impaired forward vision.
The wing was severed close to the fuselage so some forward part of the fuselage may have obstructed the view ahead.
