Narrative:
de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth MSN 85549; Taken on charge by the RAF as DE582 at 46 MU RAF Lossiemouth. Morayshire 7.5.42. To 405 (Canadian) Squadron, RAF Topcliffe, North Yorkshire 27.10.42 (or possibly 403 (Canadian) Squadron, RAF Catterick, North Yorkshire). To 416 (Canadian) Squadron, RAF Digby, Scopwick, Lincolnshire 3.6.43. Crashed 12.7.43 (presumed at RAF Digby); to Taylorcraft at Rearsby, Leicestershire for repairs 16.7.43. To 33 MU RAF Lyneham, Wiltshire 10.9.43 upon completion of repairs. To 18 EFTS RAF Fairoaks, Chobham, Surrey 21.9.43 later coded “FIR-Q”. To 18 RFS RAF Fairoaks, Chobham, Surrey 26.6.47 coded “RCT-L”. To 22 RFS RAF Teversham, Cambridge 15.6.50. To RAF Woodvale Station Flight, Woodvale, Southport, Lancashire 26.10.50. To Home Command Major Servicing Unit, RAF Honiley, Warwickshire 27.8.51. To 9 MU RAF Cosford, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire 14.1.52 for long-term storage pending disposal.

Struck off charge when sold 15.10.53 to Association of British Aero Clubs. UK civil registered as G-ANEO (C of R R.4159/1) on 2.10.53 to Link Training Service Ltd, London SW3 (aircraft based at Elstree, Hertfordshire). C of A issued 16.12.53. Between October 1953 and April 1961, sold on and re-registered five times in the UK, and once in Ireland, as follows:

02.10.53: First civil registered (C of R R4159/1) as G-ANEO to Link Training Services Ltd., London SW.3
16.12.53: Registration cancelled/lapsed upon sale. Aircraft record card notes "subsequently to Irish Republic as EI-AGL"
11.06.58: UK registration G-ANEO restored (C of R R4159/2) to Travelair Ltd., Oxford Street, London W.1

16.04.61: G-ANEO was owned by Mrs Pat Merrick but operated by the Surrey & Kent Flying Club out of Biggin Hill Aerodrome. On 16 April 1961 it was participating in one of the Club's 'breakfast patrols' (where the host club sends up its aircraft to 'spot' aircraft from other clubs, the pilots of which aircraft are entitled to a free breakfast, provided by the host club, if they manage to land at the host aerodrome without being spotted) when it crashed in fog at Nash Farm, Nash Lane, Keston, near Bromley, Kent, due north of Biggin Hill. Both the pilot and the passenger were killed in the crash.
03.10.61: The CAA cancelled its registration as 'destroyed'.("C of R Destroyed - Notified by letter")
