El 17 de enero del año 1958 aproximadamente a las 09:20hs, el avión de fabricación nacional FMA I.Ae-24 Calquín A-80, nº/serie 080, perteneciente a la Fuerza Aérea Argentina, cuya tripulación esta compuesta por el piloto Alférez Guillermo Jorge Chort y su navegante, Alférez Juan Carlos Depetris es destruído tras accidentarse en la localidad de Cruz de Piedra, en las cercanías de Tres Esquinas, en la localidad de Maipú, provincia de Mendoza, Falleciendo sus dos tripulantes. Al momento del accidente el avión contaba con 744h 15´de vuelo.
