1963-12-17: the Belgian Government signed an agreement with Lockheed
for the acquisition of 12 two seat Lockheed TF-104G Starfighters.
(initially 30 TF-104G’s were proposed)
1967-00-00: assembled by SABCA
1968-01-31: Taken on charge by the Belgian Air Force
1969-06-06: Flight with King Baudouin I (pilot : Kapt.vl.Leo Lambermont, CO TF104G Flight)
1969-06-19: at Corbais near Mont-Saint-Guibert Cat.5 crash,
after experiencing heavy purpoising just after take-off, the control over the aircraft was lost
pilot : ADC-Vl Mommens had to eject but severely injured, 1 Wing, 349 Squadron
co-pilot: Cdt Loots had to eject but severely injured, 1 Wing, 349 Squadron
