Narrative:
Republic F-84E-5-RE Thunderjet, 49-2129, 522nd FES, 27th FEG, USAF: Written off (destroyed) March 19 1951 when failed to return from combat operations. Aircraft Hit by ground fire, crash landed and exploded near Yulsil-li, Korea. Pilot killed.

Yusil-li is a locality in Pyongyang, Pyongan. Yusil-li is situated nearby to the localities Kudongch’ang-ni and Tongch’ang-ni.

Pilot - Captain Glen Darden, USA (Service Number AO-750802) - was killed in action. Captain Darden was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. His body was recovered and repatriated, and buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas
