Narrative:F-86F-30 52-4421 flown by 1th Lt John E. Southerland(8th FBG, 35th FBS)hit by AAA, engine fail, flames were observed , pilot eject and landed in the Kumsong area, several miles behind enemy lines.Efforts to establish visual or radio contact were unavailing and the search was suspended after three hours due to intense enemy ground fire and poor visibility.J.E.Southerland declared as MIA.
