Narrative:
Delivered 1 Aircraft Depot ex CAC on 11/06/48. Issued to 78 Wing 12/08/49. To 1 Aircraft Depot 7/50, RAAF East Sale 8/50 & 1 AD 2/56 for storage. Struck off and disposed of to RH Grant 23/04/58.

Sold to Dr Ralph H. Capponi, Apollo Bay, Victoria, 1964-67. Flown on DCA permit in original markings as A68-119. To Ed Fleming/Skyservice Aviation, Camden, NSW, 11/67-1968. Sold to Stanley Booker/Stan Air Inc, Fresno, CA, 1968 but never delivered. (US Registration N65119 reserved but not taken up). Instead to Langdon Badger, Adelaide, SA, 1968.

Registered VH-IVI to Langdon Badger 20/06/69. Sold to Ray Whitbread of Sydney 30/09/70.

Sadly, this Mustang was destroyed on 11 June 1973 at South Windsor near Sydney while being flown by the new owner when the canopy detached during aerobatics and struck him on the head. The Mustang plunged into the ground killing Whitbread instantly.
