Crashed near the Waiotahi Trig, southwest of Opotiki, while surveying a newly constructed natural gas pipeline. Weather conditions at the time were poor. Both pilot and passnger were killed.
Helicoter operated by McConnell Dowell Construction Ltd at time of crash.
