Narrative:
Cessna 414A N2729D; Written off (destroyed) 12/2/1981 when crashed on final approach to Rio Vista Municipal Airport, Rio Vista, Solano County, California, 23 km East-South-East of Travis AFB. Aircraft was flying on instruments (IFR) in adverse weather conditions (fog and low cloud ceiling). Aircraft descended below MDA during VOR-A approach, and flew into the ground. Aircraft destroyed by fire on impact, killing the two persons on board (pilot and one passenger)

Registration N2729D cancelled by the FAA on 23/2/1982. Note that N2729D crashed at the "original" Rio Vista Municipal Airport. The original Rio Vista Municipal Airport was closed in 1995, when it was replaced by the new Rio Vista Municipal Airport, 2 miles to the northwest.
