Narrative:B-29-5-BW 42-6289: Delivered to USAAF 6 January 1944. Assigned to 44th Bomb Squadron, 40th Bomb Group, USAAF, 19 April 1944. Named ‘Nippon Nipper’. Destroyed in electrical ground fire during start up at Chakulia Airfield, Purbi Singhbhum district, State of Jharkhand, India July 8, 1944. Aircraft damaged beyond repair (burnt out). No fatalities and no casualties reported. (Replaced by B-29 42-24503 as "Nippon Nipper II")
