Narrative:The Piper PA-24-260 Comanche crashed during a night-time approach to Blythe, CA.
The aircraft had been hired to fly five passengers from Phoenix to Blythe where they would pick up five used cars and drive them to the new owner, Madison Chevrolet.
A current notam stated that the Blythe runway lights were inop due to a previous severe storm. The aircraft approached in conditions of darkness and crashed.
