Narrative:
PROBABLE CAUSE:
Mountainous Terrain,CFI not experienced
with high terrain in area.Poor decision
making.
Normal procedure for departing rwy.13 VX climb to VY climb
when turning left through 2nd.hollow (passage) then
Proceed normal.Aircraft initial climb at VY followed by
turning left early,traveling thru 1st.passage and was
unable to clear terrain. Aircraft struck trees where it
partially ended travel hanging in the trees
