Narrative:Written off (destroyed) June 18, 1980 when crashed near Saltese, Mineral County, Montana (at approximate co ordinates 47°24′37″N 115°30′35″W). Aircraft suffered a CFIT (Controlled Flight Into Terrain) due to continuing a VFR flight in fog/adverse weather (IFR-appropriate) conditions. Aircraft was following interstate highway I-90, when it hit overhead wires and poles on a mountainside in fog. FSS advised Pilot to stay down along river route under clouds. Aircraft caught fire after impact, and both persons on board (pilot and one passenger) were killed.
