The flight interrupted its Category III precision approach at Paris-Orly Airport due to a technical breakdown and diverted towards the Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport.
On approach to Lyon, the aircraft crossed the localizer's axis without intercepting it and the flight crew radioed to the Lyon Tower controller that they were going around. The controller then guided the crew for a new approach.
The crew made a manual approach to runway 35R. In the approach sequence EGPWS alerts were triggered in the flight deck and a Minimum Safe Altitude Warning (MSAW) alert was triggered in the air traffic control tower.
The crew landed safely on runway 35R at 12:10.
