The aircraft experienced a loss of directional control and subsequent ground loop upon landing at Palatka Municipal Airport-Lt Kay Larkin Field (28J) in Palatka, Florida.
A strong gust of wind overturned the 1949 Piper PA-16 single engine airplane on its right side. After the aircraft overturned, it came to a final rest on its right side in the grass.
The tailwheel equipped airplane sustained substantial damage and the two occupants onboard received minor injuries.
