Following a loss of engine power, the aircraft, an experimental Simmons built STOL CH 701 enroute to Charles M Schulz/Sonoma County Airport (KSTS), Santa Rosa, California, force landed to open field terrain in Sonoma County south of Kenwood, California. The airplane sustained substantial damage and the sole pilot onboard was not injured.
