Narrative:
DHC-1 Chipmunk T10, WD300, 1 BFTS (Basic Flying Training School) RAF: delivered 12/1/1951. Written off 8/10/1951 when Engine failed on approach to practice forced landing, due to the pilot opening up the throttle too quickly, causing the engine to fail to "pick up". The aircraft then struck the ground near Chearsley, four miles North of Thame, Buckinghamshire, pivoted on its nose and swung around. No reported injuries to the pilot.

The reported crash location of Chearsley is a village and civil parish within Aylesbury Vale district in Buckinghamshire, England. It is situated about seven miles south west of Aylesbury, and about four miles north of Thame, in Oxfordshire.
