Narrative:
An Eurocopter EC 135P2+ helicopter and a Piper PA-28 aircraft both impacted the ground following a mid-air collision near Philippsburg, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. Both occupants on board each aircraft suffered fatal injuries.

The helicopter, operated by HEMS operator DRF Luftrettung, was performing a check- or training-flight (not yet verified) from Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport. The Piper PA-28, belonged to a flight school at Basel, Switzerland and was performing a flight from Basel in the direction of Speyer. One eyewitness told on TV "The Piper suddenly appeared out of a cloud-formation."
