The aircraft, an experimental Skwira built W-10 Tailwind, disappeared from radar while preforming take off and landings at Suak Centre Municipal Airport (D39) in Sauk Center, Minnesota. The plane was found the following day in Getty Township in an empty field approximately six miles south of the Sauk Centre Airport. The plane sustained substantial damage and the sole pilot on board suffered fatal injures.
