After taking off from Cigli Air Base at 10:26, the plane crashed 3 kms north off the base. Two crew bodies and the debris were found.

İzmir Çiğli İkinci Ana Jet Üssü'nden kalkış yapan SF-260D tipi eğitim uçağı kalkışından 23 dakika sonra düştü. Uçakta bulunan Havacı Yüzbaşı Yunus Bal ile Havacı Üsteğmen Resul Ekrem Gökdoğan şehit oldu.
