Narrative:An experimental Zenith CH 650 Zodiac, amateur bult by Thomas P. Neal, experienced a runway excursion and a subsequent impact with trees during a landing attempt at Gilliam McConnell Airfield (BQ1), Carthage, North Carolina.
The airplane sustained substantial damage and the two occupants onboard were not injured.
