Narrative:
The B-17 PN9E was one of many aircraft taking part in a search for a downed C-53 Skytrooper when it flew into whiteout conditions and crashed on a Greenland glacier. Due to the remote location and extreme weather conditions the survivors were stranded for five months. They only survived due to heroic efforts by the crew and air drops of supplies making it one of the longest military survival stories in history.
