Narrative:
Wellington bomber L4288 (KA-A of 9 Sqaudron, RAF) was in a collision with L4363 of the same unit during formation flying practice near Sapiston Rectory, about 3 miles from RAF Honington, Suffolk; aircraft crashed at Water Mill, Sapiston, 1 mile from the Honington runway. All on board both planes were killed. (Squadron Codes KA Feb 39-Sept 39. WS Sept 39-April 51)

Centre section, engine nacelles, cowlings and engines only were recovered in 1982-83, and are now on display at the Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum, Flixton, Bungay, Suffolk. (Crash site recovery)
