Received 6.11.40 by 75 Sqn RNZAF at RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk, from 37 Sqn RAF Feltwell, Norfolk. Re-coded AA-J (from Feltwell Flying Control Logbook), landed 22:28, night of 11/12.12.40. Missing on combat operations on night of 29/30.12.40.

Failed To Return (Newman crew) shot down en route to the target (Hamm). Aircraft came down at Goudswaard, in the Dutch province of South Holland, located on the westernmost tip of the Hoeksche Waard, approximately 6 km south-west of Spijkenisse, Netherlands.
Understood to have run out of fuel due to extreme head winds, causing the forced-landing
