El 19 de julio del año 1949 un avión Fiat G.55B Centauro registro C-34 perteneciente a la Fuerza Aérea Argentina, con base en el IV Brigada Aérea de El Plumerillo en la Provincia de Mendoza, cuyo piloto era el Teniente Ricardo A. Fistolera. Sufre un desperfecto mecánico en su motor en el momento que estaba realizando aproximacón para aterrizar en la pista, producto del aterrizaje forzoso sufre rotura del tren de aterrizaje y dobladura de la hélice. El piloto resulto ileso. El avión fue reparado y siguió volando hasta su baja operativa.
